Meet 2 KC moms, Mila and Gretchen, born and raised in Kansas City, who share a deep love for all things KC. Best friends for over 20 years, we met in college and have supported each other through all of life’s milestones. Life has brought its share of changes, through it all, we’ve learned to focus on what truly matters—family, joy, and creating meaningful spaces.
Meet Mila Ellsworth
I’m Mila—a proud KC mom of three, with two girls and one boy, and a devoted wife to my high school sweetheart. I was born and raised in Kansas City, so you’ll always find me cheering on the Royals and the Chiefs with everything I’ve got. I’m also a breast cancer survivor, and that journey has shaped so much of who I am today. It’s been a ride, but I’ve learned so much about resilience and what really matters.
When I’m not cheering on my kids or coaching softball, I’m all about giving back to my community. I truly believe in lifting others up, and I try to do that in every way I can. Right now, I’m thrilled to be working alongside my best friend to turn our shared vision into a business that’s all about spreading joy and connecting with others. Whether it’s through my family, my love for sports, or this new venture, I pour my heart into everything I do. I’m always aiming to make every season a little brighter for those around me.
Meet Gretchen Lombard
I’m Gretchen—a proud KC mom of two, with one amazing girl and one awesome boy. I’m also a Kansas City native through and through. There’s something about this city that just feels like home, from the Kansas City Royals to the Kansas City Chiefs, I bleed KC blue and red.
My journey took a little twist when I met my husband in Denver, but eventually, we made our way back to the heart of the Midwest to raise our family. As much as I love exploring new places, there’s truly no place like KC.
For years, I was caught up in the corporate grind, but I realized that my heart was elsewhere. I wanted to spend more time with the people I love and focus on what really matters. So, I took a leap and left that world behind. Now, I’m living my dream of working with my best friend, bringing creative, personalized designs into homes and lives all around us.
It’s been such a rewarding journey—one that reminds me daily of the importance of following your heart. I’m so excited to keep making memories with my family and to help others create spaces that they love.
